Our team is dedicated to providing exceptional solutions for your construction and infrastructure projects. From shotcrete shoring to micropile and foundation drilling, as well as a variety of other specialized techniques such as DCP anchors, IBO hollow bar injection anchors, pressure grouting, anchor testing, limited access drilling, and engineered design-build services, we offer a diverse set of capabilities to meet your specific project needs. Our commitment to safety, quality, and sustainability ensures that your project is in good hands from start to finish.

SHOTCRETE SHORING

Shotcrete Shoring is spraying concrete(shotcrete) pneumatically to a ground surface and drilling horizontal post-tensioned anchors to create a retaining wall. Shoring is commonly used when digging the foundation of a building. Shoring systems support the surrounding loads until the underground levels of a building are constructed.

DCP ANCHORS

The double corrosion-protected anchor consists of a galvanized thread bar rolled in cement grout and then covered in a plastic sheathing, making it a desirable solution for permanent applications. VSS’s vast array of equipment can install these anchors in almost any application.

PRESSURE GROUTING

Pressure grouting, also known as injection grouting, is a technique used to improve the properties of soil or rock formations. It involves injecting a cementitious grout into fractures or voids, enhancing the ground’s strength, stability, and impermeability. Pressure grouting is commonly utilized to stabilize foundations, reinforce underground structures, mitigate ground settlement, and seal leaks in concrete structures such as dams, tunnels, and retaining walls.

LIMITED ACCESS DRILLING

Limited access drilling involves drilling holes in areas with restricted space or accessibility, often seen in congested sites or confined spaces where traditional drilling equipment isn’t feasible. This method utilizes specialized equipment and techniques tailored to maneuver through tight spaces. VSS possesses the capability to conduct drilling in virtually any application, offering versatility and efficiency in challenging environments

CHEMICAL GROUT

Chemical grouting with expanding foam is a specialized technique for sealing, strengthening, and stabilizing structures and soil. This process involves injecting a liquid chemical grout, which expands upon contact with water or moisture, into voids, cracks, or gaps within concrete, soil, or rock formations. As the foam expands, it fills and seals the spaces, creating a waterproof and durable barrier. It is commonly used in applications such as sealing joints in underground structures, preventing water infiltration in tunnels, and stabilizing soil around foundations.

MICROPILE AND FOUNDATION DRILLING

Micropiles typically range from 4 to 10 inches in diameter and are drilled with or without casing. They are then reinforced with steel and filled with high-strength grout for various applications. VSS’s fleet of drill rigs offers multiple applications, from limited access to 20-ton dual rotary casing rigs.

IBO HOLLOW BAR INJECTION ANCHORS

The IBO (Injection Bore Method) hollow bar consists of a threaded hollow steel bar, which allows the grout to be injected through the drill stem to enhance stability and load-bearing capacity. The anchor is installed by drilling into the ground and grouting the hollow bar, creating a secure bond between the anchor and the surrounding ground. This method is particularly effective in stabilizing slopes, retaining walls, and foundations, offering a versatile and reliable solution for various soil conditions.

ANCHOR TESTING

Anchor tensioning is a critical process involving a controlled force to secure and stabilize anchors firmly in place. This procedure follows the installation of anchors, such as soil anchors or rock bolts, embedded into the ground. Tensioning is achieved using hydraulic jacks, which apply a pulling force to the anchor. This force is carefully calibrated to achieve the desired level of tension, ensuring proper end load-bearing capacity.
